Climate change and alpine pastures. Brief summary of the validation workshop of March 31, 2022

On March 31, 2022, the PASTORALP validation workshop took place at the Parc National Des Ecrins, case study of the project. The meeting was an opportunity for discussion with local actors (breeders, shepherds, technicians and administrators) on the theme of climate change and adaptation strategies in the Alpine pastoral context.

During the meeting, the project results (vulnerability and socio-economic analyzes using modeling approaches) were shown and the technical measures and adaptation policies identified to cope with ongoing and expected climate changes were illustrated.

The aim of the workshop was to evaluate the effectiveness and feasibility of the technical measures and adaptation policies presented, highlighting possible problems, suggestions or incentives for their adoption.

During the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to learn the results of the research and evaluate strategies for dealing with the problems related to grazing and climate change, generating important results for both categories.
